COMMON FASHION MISTAKES

art
Fashion is a changing art, some trends are a total no-no and some become a fundamental rule. So here I am today to list 7 most common fashion mistakes that you might be doing right now!

1) Don’t mix prints in one outfit
This is a common mistake that everyone makes. We think that the outfit instantly becomes too busy when we mix two prints together but that isn’t true, here are a few tips to incorporate multiple prints in just one outfit. Mixing prints that belong to the same color family is the best way to go. Keep it simple and monochrome. Treat camo and leopard prints as your print neutrals! Add a camp or leopard printed accessory to an existing print in your outfit and see the instant transformation!

2) Mixing Gold and Silver accessories are a major fashion Faux Pas
This is a total myth! Mixed jewelry have been in trend for a long time now! Accessorize your look with some gold and silver metallic flash tattoos to see how they add a glamours edge to your rather boring outfit.

3) Showing too much skin
Showing too much skin doesn’t necessarily add sexiness but it will only make you look trashy. Always remember that every outfit needs to be balanced. If you decide to show off your arms and cleavage then make sure you have your legs covered up or opt for s stunning full sleeved mini dress! Remember ladies, Balance is key!

4) Too much bling
I understand the urge to look like a sparkly angel but there is a limit to how much diamonds you should wear in one outfit! I think Coco Channel nailed it when she said that it’s always necessary to remove at least one of your accessory before you leave the house. Too much bling will distract the eyes from the outfit. So remember, bling can make or break your outfit

5) You can’t wear sequence in the day time
It is ridiculous to think that sequence is just meant for the night! You can easily pair a sequenced piece of clothing with some solid neutral pieces and rock it as a day time outfit. Pair a sequenced jacket with a basic white tee and some ripped skinny jeans and a nice pointy heel and you have a great day time chic look

6) You think short girls can’t rock a maxi skirt
Maxi skirts look great on all women! A nicely fitted maxi skirt can actually make a short girl look taller! Just get a solid colored maxi skirt and pair it with a tight top to show off your body shape and wear some heels under the skirt to help guide the eyes in a vertical manner making you look taller. It’s that easy folks!

7) Denim on denim is a fashion no-no!

This one is a total myth! Anyone can rock the double denim look but it is essential to keep some things in mind! In order to look chic you need to mix various washes together to create a coherent look! Try pairing a dark denim jacket with a pair of light denim jeans!

There you go folks a quick list to help you dress better! Stay Chić.

WARDROBE STAPLES FOR WOMEN

Here is a run down of all the staples in a woman's wardrobe!

1) Classic White T-shirt
A definite staple! A white T-shirt is so versatile! You can dress it up with a monochrome patterned pair of jeans, a fitted blazer and some strappy heels or dress it down with a pair of ripped jean shorts, a nice boyfriend blazer and some colorful wedges and accessorize with a nice pair of sun glasses. The possibilities are simply endless!

2) Cargo pants
Yes! You read it right! Cargo pants are coming back and they are selling like hot cakes! Pair your green cargo pants with neutral colored tops like white, grey or black and pair them with a nice chunky knit scarf, boots or some nice heels! and accessorize with  gold jewelry and you’ll have people doing double takes all day!

3) Little Black Dress
Who can go wrong with an LBD? Every woman must have a LBD. LBD’s never go out of style! You can wear them throughout the year. When you’re in a hurry just slip one on and you can head out hassle free. They are chic and effortless. You can go elegant and regal like Elizabeth Taylor in her iconic LBD or you can take the sexiness to a new notch and go all glam like Elizabeth Hurley’s iconic black Versace dress.

4) Cardigans
Cardigans are the ultimate finishing touch to bring your outfit together! They are great for layering in fall and winter and provide a pop of color to your outfits in spring and summer. A nice solid cardigan can be styled with any look you’re going for and are perfect to spice up your boring work outfit

5) Plaid shirt
Plaid is the new black! A woman must have one pair of oversized plaid shirt. You can wear them as a cardigan or go super casual with a pair of shorts or tuck them under a skater skirt for an effortlessly chic look or completely glam it up with a sequenced skirt, high heels and a chunky statement necklace.

6) Jeans
A perfect fitting pair of jeans is an absolute must have! A perfect pair must fit your hips snuggly and fall straight down from your widest part of your hip. Dark wash denim are so versatile as they can help you create an outfit that can easily transition from a day to night look (and they are extremely forgiving too!)

7) Blazer
A blazer is a no brainer! Every woman must have a nice fitted blazer in her wardrobe. A blazer is the only piece of clothing that will help you dress up any outfit in an instant. Believe me ladies, a blazer is a gift that simply keeps giving!

8) Black skirt
A skirt is a girl’s best friend! You can rock a nice black skirt to the office with a blazer or hit the clubs with your girlfriends if you pair them with a sequenced top and accessorize with some minimalistic jewelry

9) Nude Heels

Nude heels is a wardrobe essential! They make your legs look longer there by creating an illusion of looking taller! You can pair them with a flirty skirt or with any neutral shades. When in a rut just stick to the classics and a nude pair of heels can pull any outfit together.

There you go! These are my personal wardrobe essentials! Happy shopping and stay chić!

EASY BY TAMMARA WEBBER

"Love is not the absence of logic but logic examined and recalculated - heated and curved to fit inside the contours of the heart"

Sometimes when you read a book, you don’t really form an opinion, you just read because you want to read. You don’t assess how you’re feeling and this book did that to me. I can’t begin to explain how amazing and cleverly crafted this book was. It wasn’t your average contemporary book full of cliches like an awkward girl who falls in love with this totally dream guy with a really obvious twist. I absolutely loathe those kinds of books.

This book was REALISTIC. It wasn’t about finding McDreamy but about dealing with tough situations, it's about finding yourself and embracing your flaws. It's about feeling vulnerable and confused and finding your own way out before jumping into a man’s arms. I love how Tamara beautifully intertwines a very raw sensitive topic into the story. I'm glad she is raising awareness about things that most people don’t like talking about.

If you plan on reading this book then get ready to swoon your bum off. Lucas is the complete package, he’s a man’s man. He can kick some ass, work multiple jobs, excels at academics, draws like an angel (and looks like one too), cooks you a great dinner, he’s super protective and wins you over with his oh so sweet lovin’.

This book is unputdownable, if you haven’t ordered one yet, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR??! Go get one! This story is just spine-tinglingly delicious. It will leave you sheepishly giddy with nostalgic butterflies. 5 fabulous stars for this gem of a book!

THINGS A LITTLE BIRD TOLD ME BY BIZ STONE

Creativity is a renewable resource. Challenge yourself every day. Be as creative as you like, as often as you want, because you can never run out. Experience and curiosity drive us to make unexpected, offbeat connections. It is these nonlinear steps that often lead to the greatest work

The easiest 5 stars I’ve given in my life. Biz Stone, Genius. I will never forget him because he lived life with so much style and courage. He leads his life by simply trusting his gut. Me and you would have literally killed to get some of the opportunities that this man was blessed with but if it didn’t feel right, he just walked away. Google offering him a decent job, Mark Zuckerberg offering him half a billion dollars for a company that he casually created on a hackathon.

Biz was a man like no other, he put people and causes above profits. He believed in making his own opportunities and was not put down during some of the hard phases in his life. He stuck to what he believed in till the very end which made him the best candidate for success. He went on dropping out of college to painstakingly horrifyingly poor to stutteringly rich in an instant.

If you are addicted to Twitter and you’re looking for a memoir/self-help/philanthropic book then this one is for you. Listen to the story of how Twitter was born directly from the co-founder. This book is full of little trinkets of wisdom. This isn’t a story of how rich he got or how smart he was, this was a stripped down, raw human story. The story of a man, who wasn’t sucked in by fame or fortune but simply did things that felt right to him and eventually possessed the power to change the world as we now know it.

Thank you, Biz for teaching me a lesson that I’ll take to my grave.

STEP BY STEP PROCESS OF DRAWING ADELE

I had actually drawn Adele on my iPad. I really suck at sketching people’s face so it took me about 4 hours to just get the outline done. Once I did that, I printed it off and traced it on to the shading paper. BIG MISTAKE. Next time I should directly sketch onto the paper because the tracing was a little too heavy handed but in real life it gives it a nice depth. I’m glad that worked out.

This is the finished piece of the artwork.. The shading was easy it took me about 7 hours to do that. I need to learn how to sketch faster. Over all I’m very pleased with my effort. It definitely looks like her which I’m chuffed about! Stay tuned for more fun stuff!

THE LAST LECTURE BY RANDY PAUSCH

Who is Randy Pausch and what was his story?
Randy was a professor in Carnegie Mellon and was given an opportunity to give the last lecture. It was a lecture that was given by professors to impart their wisdom and talk as if it was the last time they will ever speak, which unfortunately in his case took on a literal meaning, he was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer and was given only months to live.

Randy's last lecture was not just a book but it was 206 pages of versatile lessons that could be applied in a variety of situations that we face on a day to day basis. There is something for everyone in this book. These words highlight Randy's personality in a beautiful way. You don't seem to remember that this is a dying man trying to leave a quick legacy for his kids, no. You see a man who is so full of passion who is willing to give it his all in order to achieve his dreams. A man who doesn't let go of his optimism no matter how bad things get.

The book is something that may seem awfully monotonous and boring if you try and read it in one stretch. In order to truly learn from this book, I would suggest that you take a day off after each section so that you can let the words slowly sink in. This book will encourage you to live life to the fullest. It will remind us how precious life really is. It will leave you in tears as you see a dying man say his last words with a smile.

Even as he lived the last few months of his life, I know that Randy was truly alive.

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE?

To be honest, that is not the right way to frame that question. The word 'meaning' denotes something singular, there is this hidden notion that tends to objectify things. It tends to give us an impression that meaning comes out of objects and experiences but fails to focus on the relationship between the subject and the object. Life like many things is very subjective. Your meaning would come from your belief system. This belief system like our universe is never constant. It changes from one generation to the other, from one culture to the other. I have wondered if life actually had a meaning, and if that meaning was something universal or something personal. I wanted to know if oblivion was our final destination. I soon realized that I was not the only one who was wondering about the meaning of life, so I decided to ask people and here is what they had to say.

"For me life on earth means a sort of preparation for the afterlife. On a much deeper level, life on earth is like a soul tutorial. Personally, I'm here to learn how to live with soul consciousness."

“Hard question. First be proud of your mom she gave birth to you. Then just survive and make a happy life. I guess.”

"Life for me is a Ferrari."

"Life is Oxygen and Carbon-dioxide"

" Life is a long unpredictable journey, Your plan is never going to go your way but that's the beauty of it and that's what makes it worth living"

" Life to me is a SWOT analysis, to see if the person has taken various decisions according to the situation and to see how they react and how they grow with that experience."

“To die”

" Life is a game. It's all about a key to your success. To achieve it, you need to cross through many levels in the game. If you lose your life then you won't be able to continue in the game. So stick to the game, play as smart as possible, Use the bonuses you get, Collect many points as possible which makes crossing these levels a lot easier."

" Life is what you perceive it to be! Life is just in the moment, that present moment you living in. You think life is a disco then it's a disco. You think it's a garden then it's a garden. Life is the sum total of your thoughts and moments which trigger those thoughts!"

“Nothing life means nothing. It’s just something you gotta do or not”

“There is no meaning. Life is an experience. Not a quest with some task to complete.”

" Life is an art. Its where you live, laugh, love, dance, sing in your own world. Life is something that you have, you can't see what's coming in the future, and you can't get the things you lost in the past."

" Life is all about happiness and satisfaction. 'If you're satisfied you'll sleep hungry' that quote is what I believe in and I believe that's what life might be"

" The meaning of life is to add meaning to your life."

“To give life a meaning”

"According to me life is meant to be lived, it can be easy or difficult. Sometimes good, other times rough. But at every up or down in life you always learn a lesson."

" On any given day, the ultimate aim would be to wake up tomorrow. So far, I've been 100% successful. One day, I won't. But every time you wake up.... you have to create your own meaning of life."

“42”

"For me life means, to earn people and to live with them and to get better together to add this awesome flavor called smile and good memories"

"Live your life and find it yourself. What you discover is the meaning."

" I think life is a journey. People say its short but I guess it's not. People say live in the moment but I think it needs a plan to go through the full journey while enjoying the scenery around."

“To live genuinely. To experience heartbreak and the great joys of the world.”

"Life is easy like a rollercoaster. You shouldn't waste a moment by looking behind to make sure that you don't miss the exciting moment that's coming ahead."

“To get to do all the things you love with positive people in your life. And growing stronger as a person.”

So, here you go folks, the meaning of life.
